The year 2020 will be remembered for some time. The year that ____________. Just fill in the blank. There is a lot of chaos and disorder in the world right now. A lot of voices are out there saying things. We have to be careful who and what we are listening to. This isn’t a time to make decisions out of fear or allow our emotions to lead us to a place that isn’t where we are supposed to be walking. Again, be careful to who or what you are listening to.

I think we have some wonderful opportunities from all the chaos and disorder going on around us. The first point I would like to make is many families and individuals don’t want chaos and disorder in or around their lives. They are looking for some place that is safe and secure. A place that makes them feel at home. There is a great opportunity out there right now in ministry to offer our services to those that are looking for order and structure. Does your fellowship or place of worship make people feel safe?

There is so much division right now on all fronts but what I find interesting is the ‘us versus them’ attitude in almost everything. Many people are unhappy. I believe this unhappiness comes from a lack of purpose. Groups like Antifa or B.L.M. are popular right now with the younger generation because they are offering a sense of purpose to them. People are joining these groups because it makes them feel like they are a part of something and finally have a purpose. Now I don’t agree with those groups, but there are things to take away from watching the bigger picture.

There is a wonderful opportunity out there to start teaching and discipling people about purpose. Not just about purpose but about THEIR purpose and the role THEY play right now. We need more people out in the trenches doing spiritual work. We need folks out there pushing back agains the darkness. Why not give people something to take part in? Why not teach people to find their purpose in doing good and what is right?

If we look at the darkness all around us, it can be overwhelming. We have opportunities to make a difference in the world by letting our light shine. We can teach and disciple others how to do the same! This is where people find purpose and fulfillment. Are we discipling someone at this moment? Is our ministry currently discipling people? If not then why?

Our world will be what we make it out to be. I tell Costa Rican’s all the time. Sitting around with our arms crossed doing nothing has produced what we currently are going through as a country. The same thing has happened spiritually.

We can no longer sit around with our arms crossed thinking this or that isn’t going to have an affect on us. No matter what your thoughts are about coronavirus, it has totally disrupted and affected your life. The God of Israel is currently enlisting in His army. If you haven’t joined there is no better time than right now.

We have an opportunity to leave our mark on history but that mark requires us taking action. I can’t tell you specifically which role is yours to play, but I can try and help point you in the right direction. It’s time for us to step up to the plate. There are people waiting on the other side of our obedience. A lot of times I think we don’t realize how important our role truly is because we feel insignificant! Well I’m here to tell you that your role is just as significant and unique as any other person out there. When we find our purpose and start to function in that purpose then everything starts to take on value.

When we value something we cherish it and take care of it and even go to great links to maintain it. This is why it is important for us to start walking out purpose and have others right beside us while doing so. Many people are looking to add value to their life and we have a wonderful opportunity before us. Are we gong to take advantage of the opportunities we’ve been given to make a difference in those around us?

People around us don’t have to believe what we believe in order for us to make a difference in their life! Start by serving those around you. Shalom.
